Well 2lbs on in the last two weeks (not as bad as i was expecting). On a bright note the weather has finally stabilised as cold but dry yay so plenty more perambulations are on the cards. Will have the SIL's Wooffer to accompany us once the daylight stays longer into the evening so added incentive.
Remember y'all to Git-R-Done banana

We'll my diet is going great..eating more veg...grilling more meals on my Teppanyaki..Drinking less beer..So I feel really good, however, at this moment our weather is pretty poor..Maybe getting two 3 mile walks a week..So my exercise isn't as good as I had hoped for...Here's hoping that when the clocks go forward in two weeks...Summer kicks in..

Congrats on your better diet. BTW we already changed our clocks on this side of the pond and it's not getting any warmer. It takes me 15 minutes just to put on all the layers I need to get out and walk. Where is spring?

Me too. I thought you got "swept" if you didn't go fast enough? I can't run - bad knees, and somewhat badly healed fractured ankle, but I can walk forever if I'm allowed to go at a steady pace.

runDisney officially states their minimum pace as 16 minutes per mile, but recommends that you train 15 minutes per mile to account for changes in elevation, bathroom breaks, character stops, etc. However, I looked at some of the past results for races and based on my calculations, the times for some of the people who are listed as finishing the race are slower than 16 minutes per mile. Does anyone have first hand experience with the "sweeping"?

I've never been swept although I did finish the 10-Miler with a 17 min pace. You won't get swept on the 5Ks if you are even close to the 16 min pace. On the longer races, you won't get swept once you are in the park for the final stretch if you are close to the 16 min pace. There are people that somehow get in a corral that is for faster runners than they are so that they start sooner than the last corral. This allows them to have a little padding on their time to avoid the sweeper. I am not a fan of this, but I understand it.

Good morning all my friends!! I missed you so much!!! Just wanted to let you know we got back safely. We had a wonderful time! Give me a couple of days to catch up, and I will try to do a post-trip report with pictures.
I need to do laundry and get back to normal. Trying to acclimate to this weather! We are 40 degrees cooler than Florida was:( not happy and now I am sneezing. So hope this is just allergies!
Hope you all are doing well! muchlove

Welcome home Boomer I hope you had a magical time. It's Friday, raining and 35 so no outside walking yet again. Spring had better come soon or I'm going to buy a gun and get that mean old groundhog! At least I haven't gained any weight over the long COLD winter! JM's no more trouble zones to start my day and interval and stretch classes later. A lovely kale, cucumber, ginger and lemon smoothie to start my day, packing salad with beans and almonds for lunch and for dinner I'll be having leftovers. Have a magical weekend and keep on dancing.

i think all I can do is tape my mouth shut!

I've bought myself a treadmill and try and walk at least 3km a day. (I want to get to 5Km a day but that will take time)

I have about 30lbs to lose before my trip in October and so far it's not working - In fact I seem to be gaining weight.

I'm praying that the upcoming summer months will promote me mowing the lawn and fixing up the garden a bit...
I also keep considering putting up a basketball hoop so that i can jump about a bit.

I don't know what else to do - I work full time and have 2 kids under 6 which i don't get much time with during the week.

So I think I could be right with the duct tape idea....

Anyone got any ideas (on a way to lose weight not which brand of tape to use)

laugh I think that would work best for me too! But really I think I've read that loosing weight is 20% exercise and 80% diet, so really just eating healthy foods and watching your calories will be the most effective way... I has been in my experience at least

Agree Katie..I'am not into jogging unless I'am getting chased by dogs..I like a brisk walk ( approx 3 mile ) but I've cut back on beer..substituted by wine...Eating more veg...Smaller portions...Using my Teppanyaki grill twice a week..It's a slow process for me but it's working...I need to start eating fruit.. clapping

It really is diffent strokes for different folks as far as diet goes.
Weight watchers (calorie controlled)
Eating healthier and smaller portions
Neither worked for me and DW.
Lowering the carbohydrate intake ... Ta Da !!!

So if one thing doesn't work don't give up try something different and it might click...

Failing that i recomend Bearbond (other tapes are available)

Good afternoon all! Agree about the lapu lapu's, King! Lots of things don't have calories at WDW. Unfortunately, I did partake of a whole lot of non-caloric foods! LOL
My biggest thing that I need to cut back on are sweets! I have always had a sweet tooth. I really have to keep account of how much I eat during the day since I stay at home. So, the best thing for me is not to buy any or at least get something out that I don't bring into the house!
Today is raining so walking will have to be inside. Also, today is weights day. I am so happy that my shoulder is 100% after all the PT and there is no pain or stiffness. I guess I will find out how good it is when I start painting the kitchen in a few weeks!
Everyone have a safe, happy weekend!! Keep active and think happy thoughts for tomorrow is another day!! wink

King Fergus

Whoa!...Sunday...5.30pm...The heat is on..3mile walk on Saturday..2 mile walk today..16 degrees....Homemade Cajun meatloaf and creamed mash for dinner...Lost another 1lb...Keep dancing people..keep safe... banana
