At the D23 Expo, fans often dress in costume to honor their favorite Disney movie, attraction, or character. And at this year's D23 Expo those fans and their creativity will be showcased at the first-ever A La Mode Costume Contest.
Named in honor of Edna Mode, the fashion guru from The Incredibles, the contest will give fans a chance to show their creativity through costumes inspired by Disney. The categories in the contest include Motion Pictures (Animation, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm), Parks and Recreation, Consumer Products, Media Networks (including ABC, Disney Channel, and ESPN), and Interactive.
Five specially designed trophies will be awarded to the most magical and creative costumes in the following categories: Original Design (or inspired by...), Re-creation, Craftsmanship, Young Fan, and Best in Show.
D23 attendees wishing to participate in the contest must complete an entry form at D23Expo.com before July 21. Since this is a timed contest the number of entrants is limited. Applicants will be chosen to participate based on the merits of quality and quantity, and will be selected at the discretion of producers.
The D23 Expo - The Ultimate Disney Fan Event - gives attendees unprecedented access to Disney films, theme parks, and more. The 2013 expo takes place August 9-11 at the Anaheim Convention Center just across the street from the original Disneyland Resort. Tickets for the D23 Expo are $57 for a one-day adult admission and $47 for children 3-12. Tickets for members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club are $50 for a one-day adult admission and $42 for children. For more information on tickets and the ticket pricing structure for members and general admission, visit D23Expo.com.
