If your family is a foodie family that loves to cook together and enjoy five-course meals, you'll want to check out the new Disney Family Culinary Adventure that debuts this week at Disney's Contemporary Resort. This experience was available to Disney Vacation Club members in June.
The Disney Family Culinary Adventures is for guests ages 9 and older and takes place at the catering kitchen inside the Contemporary. The guests (a maximum of 30) will don aprons, hats, and gloves and get divided into five cooking groups.
The cooking stations include: Garde manger where guests will learn to make butter and farmer cheese; sushi where guests will learn the art of rolling sushi and sashimi; Boucherie where guests learn to trim a beef tenderloin for filet mignon; pasta where they'll learn to make a three-ingredient pasta; and Patisserie where dessert is created.
At the end of the food prep session the guests will have a chance to talk with the Disney chefs and then everyone takes a seat at the table to enjoy the five-course meal they just prepared. Guests who have food allergies and those who are vegetarian or vegan will have different meal options.
The five-course meal ends with a special molecular gastronomy demonstration and all the guests will also receive a toque (chef's hat) and a signed Disney cookbook.
The Disney Family Culinary Adventure will take place two nights a week starting July 8 (the days vary each week) starting at 5 p.m. The cost is $175 plus tax for guests ages 12 and older and $125 plus tax for guests ages 9 to 12. Reservations can be made by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.
