At the D23 Destination D event a couple weeks ago, Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek told attendees that a "major transformation" was planned for Epcot in the future. There was no specific timeline or details mentioned.
Chapek said the park will be "more Disney" while staying true to the original vision of Epcot.
This news probably isn't that surprising, considering the changes that have already happened at the park including the addition of Frozen Ever After in the Norway pavilion.
Rumors have swirled about recently that a Guardians of the Galaxy attraction might replace Ellen's Energy Adventure and that the France pavilion could get a Ratatouille-themed attraction similar to the one in Disneyland Paris.
The park is also known for its festivals including the Flower and Garden Festival in the spring and Food and Wine in the fall. And, just last week Disney announced the all-new Epcot Festival of the Arts, which will take place for six weekends in January and February.
As it is, there is no official word yet as to what changes might be coming to Epcot.
What sort of transformation would you like to see at Epcot? Let us know in the comments.

Great article Traci. I've had a feeling that the next evolution for Epcot would include more and more Disney franchises. While the original model was wonderful, it has just been too hard to maintain the concept when most sponsoring bodies have taken a move towards austerity. I think that the Norway transformation was only the beginning and we will see a lot more of that in the future.
