We still have about eight months until Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters but the anticipation for the new film continues to build. As with all Disney films, there's bound to be a whole new line of merchandise attached to the film. And that cute droid BB-8 is reportedly coming to the Disney Parks.
According to reports, Disney CEO Bob Iger has tasked Sphero, a Colorado-based tech firm, with creating a BB-8 prototype that will eventually make its way into the Disney Parks.
Fans got their first glimpse at BB-8 at the Star Wars Celebration Anaheim on April 16 when the cute spherical droid appeared on stage during opening ceremonies.
Disney has not announced officially when (or if) BB-8 will arrive at the theme parks, but some fans are hoping he'll make an appearance at Star Wars Weekends in just a few weeks.
In addition to the "lifesize" BB-8 droid that might join the ranks at Disney's Hollywood Studios, there's also speculation that Sphero's prototype will end up as a toy that might be remote controlled by your iPhone. There's also no official word on that possible $150 toy.

Star Wars Weekends starts May 15 at Disney's Hollywood Studios. We're already on BB-8 watch!
