2015 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend Ends with Inaugural Castaway Cay Challenge
A new race has been added as a tropical finish to the 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend.
The Castaway Cay Challenge is a joint venture between runDisney and Disney Cruise Line and gives runners a chance to finish their Marathon Weekend with a 5K on Disney's private island, Castaway Cay.
After finishing one (or more) of the Marathon Weekend races runners can compete on January 14 in the Disney Castaway Cay Challenge, a 5K race.
Runners who finish the Marathon Weekend 5K, 10K, half marathon, or full marathon, and then complete the Castaway Cay 5K will receive two additional medals: the inaugural Disney Castaway Cay Challenge medal and a Castaway Cay 5K medallion.
The Castaway Cay Challenge will take place during the Disney Dream's 4-night Bahamian cruise which sets sail on January 12, 2015 from Port Canaveral. In addition to the race, the cruise will also include exclusive activities for the Challenge participants in plus special menu items and merchandise.
Runners who want to sign up for the Castaway Cay Challenge must book the January 12 Disney Dream cruise at www.disneycruise.com, and then register for the Castaway Cay Challenge at www.runDisney.com. Registration for the challenge opens May 23.
