Over the past week I have been fielding a lot of questions about where to go now for Barbecue in the Magic Kingdom since the Menu Changes at Pecos Bills Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. Today I'm happy to share that Adventureland's seasonal restaurant, Tortuga Tavern, is picking up the slack with a whole new mouthwatering menu featuring
New menu items introduced today, October 14th, include a selection of barbecue sandwiches. Pulled pork, sliced beef brisket or grilled chicken breast, are all served-up on thick Texas toast with sides of beans and cole slaw.
The lighter vegetarian option available is a bountiful roasted corn and vegetable salad, served with vinaigrette dressing. Carnivores will have the option to top the salad with the new barbecue beef brisket or chicken.
Located across from The Pirates of The Caribbean Attraction, Tortuga Tavern offers the whole crew breezy covered outdoor seating. With quick service it's generally a nice place to sit down to relax for a bit, grab some food, and just enjoy the day. The rough and tumble pirate theme is apparent throughout the restaurant's decor with wooden shipping barrels and pirate murals. The biggest down-point is that with its seasonal status the hours can vary, typically Tortuga Tavern is serving from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on the days it is open.
I'm happy to see that Disney has given the fans an option for the void left by Pecos Bills menu changes, and with barbecue's Caribbean roots, the switch in themeing to this venue actually makes a lot of sense to me.
Pirates love their Barbecue, and we do too! Will you be headed to Tortuga Tavern to check out the new menu? Leave a comment and let us know!
