American Idol Experience Closing in January 2015

The music is ending at Disney's Hollywood Studio's American Idol Experience.

The attraction based on the Fox reality series is closing sometime in January 2015.

The American Idol Experience opened in 2009 and gave guests a chance to be contestants on the theme park version of Idol.

The winner of each show throughout the day returned for the grand finale and the winner of the final round was given a "dream ticket" to cut to the front of the line at the American Idol reality show auditions.

Like its television counterpart, the American Idol Experience featured a host and three judges who provided criticism and advice to the contestants. Three of the top 13 contestants on the last season of American Idol were discovered via the American Idol Experience.

In a statement Disney, FremantleMedia, and 19Entertainment said they "are incredibly proud of the more than 2,000 Dream Tickets that have given guests a chance to live their very own Cinderella story and audition for American Idol."

There is no word on what will replace the American Idol Experience.

Truly another ride like Toy Story. With 2 hour waits all day, it is the most popular in Hollywood Studios. Anything like that would be fantastic!
