American Idol Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Adds New Songs

The American Idol Experience at Disney's Hollywood Studios has been "refreshed with fourteen new songs added to the choices for a new season. The new songs were chosen from frequent request by guests auditioning at the American Idol Experience and include favorites from some former Idol winners.

The full list can be found online courtesy of Studios Central. The following list of new additions bring the total number of songs available to audition with to a whopping 158.

  • "American Honey" by Lady Antebellum
  • "Animal" by Neon Trees
  • "Cowboy Casanova" by Carrie Underwood
  • "Dark Side" by Kelly Clarkson
  • "Give Your Heart a Break" by Demi Lovato
  • "Home" by Phillip Phillips
  • "One Thing" by One Direction
  • "Part of Me" by Katy Perry
  • "Please Remember Me" by Tim McGraw, covered by Scotty McCreery
  • "Set Fire to the Rain" by Adele
  • "Stronger" by Kelly Clarkson
  • "The One That Got Away" by Katy Perry
  • "Turn on the Radio" by Reba McEntire
  • "Undo It" by Carrie Underwood


Guests age 14 years and up who are interested in auditioning should arrive at the Theme Park early and be prepared to devote most of their day's time to the experience. There are three distinct rounds to the experience, and during any of the stages performers may be dismissed. The first round audition is done acapella in front of a Disney casting director. If contestants make it through to the the second round, they sing from a pre-approved song list in front of a Disney Producer. Those who make it through to round three will perform on stage at Disney's Hollywood Studios in front of a live audience. Each day three guests are invited to sing in one of seven 25 Minute preliminary shows in which the audience chooses the winner. The seven preliminary winners are invited back to a o the 45-minute finale show at the end of the night.

So, why would anyone want to spend their day at Hollywood Studios going through this intense auditioning process? For a performer, the nightly prize is a highly coveted "Dream Ticket", allowing an eligible holder ages 16-28 to schedule a front-of-the-line audition to a future regional audition for the "American Idol" television show.
