Mickey's Backyard Barbecue at Fort Wilderness

The food's even better when you don't have to do the work, right!? Mickey and Minnie are putting out a festive spread right in their own backyard at Fort Wilderness! This all-you-care-to-enjoy BBQ feast will have you dancing to the
tunes of a live country-western band
, and enjoying a variety of entertainment.
Reservations are necessary but it's not too late to get in on the fun! I checked for reservations Tuesday night, and there were still seating available for the 6:30 seating on the Fourth of July.

The Smokehouse at Disney Springs

They know how to do it right in the south, smokin' the meat low and slow. Just outside of the House of Blues you'll encounter a little tin shack with a counter, serving up big smokey flavors. The menu is small and traditional at this walk-up counter: Pulled Pork, Smoked Chicken or Turkey Legs, St. Louis Ribs, and Beef Brisket. However if you want a twist order it up "smokehouse nacho style" over a bed of Crispy Fried Tri-color Corn Tortilla Chips topped with House-made Cheese Sauce, Avocado Lime Crema, Pickled Jalapenos, Fresh-made Pico de Gallo and Cilantro.

The Polite Pig in Disney Springs

We're gonna stay in Disney Springs for a posh plate of 'cue because the Polite Pig moved into the neighborhood just this year. This newcomer steals the show where as far as we're concerned. I can't even describe the goodness awaiting you inside no matter what sort of Barbecue you are looking for, and you can top them with seven - yes seven - different choices from the Sauce Bar. And Bourbon, lots and lots of Bourbon.

Here's the thing though - pescetarian and vegetarian selections are off the chain. No one is left out of the barbecue fun at this casual eatery. Smoked Wild Salmon with a maple-mustard glaze, BBQ Cauliflower, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Smoked Corn, and Sweet Potato Tots are just a few of the things you can look forward to.

Flame Tree Barbecue at Disney's Animal Kingdom

A fan favorite of smokehouse meat and chicken dinners, Flame Tree Barbecue is a lovely spot to lunch along the water's edge at Animal Kingdom. Chicken, Ribs, Pulled Pork, all the traditional favorites are on the menu here, along side a Smoked Turkey Sandwich and Watermelon Feta Salad. Another winner in my book - French Fries with Pulled Pork and Cheese Sauce. And now Flame Tree features mobile ordering!

That's just the beginning of the Barbecue fun at Walt Disney World, chicken and ribs can be found on many a quick-service menu. Plus, give the Barbecue Mac and Cheese at the Friar's Nook in Fantasyland, or the sumptuous BBQ Bison Cheeseburger at Wilderness Lodge's Geyser Point Bar & Grill.
