Celebrating Storybook Circus with a Classic Disney Short

The final phase of the new Fantasyland 'Storybook Circus' has been completed with the opening of a new meet and greet destination. At 'Pete's Silly Sideshow' you'll be able to mix and mingle with Donald Duck and Goofy or Minnie Mouse and Daisy all dressed up in their costumed circus splendor. Disney's website says "Storybook Circus dazzles with a glittering array of classic Disney characters and classic Disney storytelling!" The new section of park pulls it's inspirations from Mickey's Circus, Dumbo and other fantastic big top themes. Though it seems mainly geared toward the younger set, children of all ages will love this nostalgic trip back to the Big Top.

To celebrate we're taking a look back at the original Mickey's Circus! Released August 1st, 1936 this eight minute short takes us to the circus where Mickey is ringmaster of the circus and it's "Orphans Day." Even though it's Mickey's circus, Donald Duck and his trained sea lion act, is what stirs up trouble and pleases the crowds all in one. This short marks the first appearance in a Disney Short for Salty the Seal. Full of gags and fun filled action I hope you enjoy 'Mickey's Circus.'
