WDW Trip With "Mickey's Circus"

Hi Everyone.

I'm a day away from my trip to WDW. It will be a jam-packed trip, if we get to do everything we planned already.

The main focus of the trip is the annual pin celebration event at Epcot. This year, it is called "Trade Celebration", to incorporate both pin trading and vinylmation trading (although they are two separate events). This year's theme is Mickey's Circus. We will be flying in early tomorrow afternoon in time for the early registration at the Coronado.

As part of the event, we have signed up for the dessert reception on Saturday evening, including a viewing of Illuminations. So that should be fun as always. We have also made plans to meet up with another WDWForGrownUps member coreyp to do the Illuminations cruise. It will be another viewing angle for Illuminations.

Besides that, we have dinner reservation (for 12, no less) at Kouzzina, and we also have tickets for MNSSHP on 9/11. Phew!

It will be our first trip to WDW this year since our Trip/Cruise in Dec. last year. After going to WDW 4 times in 2011, it has been a very long time indeed since our last trip. So to say that I'm looking forward to this is an understatement.

As always, I will try to do my daily trip report on here as I go along. If all the reports that Epcot has now free guest wi-fi, I will try to also post something while I'm at the Pin/Trade event if I have a decent connection. And as always, I will blog live along the way on my Disney Blog, where I think Donald might make the occasional appearance.

I still have more packing to do (I don't know how I'm going to bring all these pins and still have the luggage under 50 lbs!), so I'd better get on with it.

I'm up, and awake, all packed and ready to go!

We still have about an hour left before we leave for the airport, but I've been up for at least a couple of hours already. I still can't believe that we could pack all our trading pins in our luggage, and still be under the 50 lb limit! Now, coming back is another matter, especially with the pins we are getting at the event, and the ones we will be buying. I may have to use the duffel bag that I packed with my luggage and check in a 2nd luggage (We Love Southwest!).

In any case, my next transmission will be from the Most Magical Place On Earth (unless I get onto a free WiFi somewhere before that).

May not be able to report much. Wifi connection sucks big time in the room.

We did the early registration and are now testing in our room. Full event starts tomorrow.

It's 4am and the wifi connection is finally stable in our room. Other times during the day, it comes and goes. So obviously, the Internet traffic is the major cause of the unstable connection. If this is true, it will severely limit my ability to post here on this trip. We will see later today how good the wifi connection is at Epcot where the pin event will take place.

We have a lovely room here at the boardwalk villas. Room faces the main courtyard, which we never had before.

I need to get more sleep.......

I'm sitting in the pin trading area. The Epcot wifi is terrific. It is fast and stable.

The big brouhaha is the set of elephant pins being released in the various pin games. People are just clamoring to do the pin trading games to collect all the pins to make a complete set. It is a zoo out there, or in this case, a circus!

But I'm having a lot of fun so far.

Just got back to the event from a late lunch at Sunshine Seasons. I had the seared tuna with noodles (picture on my blog). We then did soarin before walking back to the trading event. Still has about 3 hours left in the event.

We will be having dinner tonight at kouzzina. We will see how that goes.

We just made it back,to,the Boardwalk. Unlike at Epcot, the wifi sucks again. So IM reporting from my phone.

Our reservation is at 7. It will be a big group.

Just got back from a wonderful dinner at Kouzzina. I'll post pictures later. I had the fisherman stew, which was well done.

We then were entertained by a hilarious magician in the lobby of the Boardwalk. We could have been rolling on the floor laughing. It was a fun way to end our evening.

Tomorrow, back to World Showplace for the last day of pin trading, before Sunday's vinylmation event.
