Cinderella Castle is the showpiece of Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. This towering structure that can be seen from all over the Park is the icon that most people think of when considering a Disney Park. With 2020 marking the 70th anniversary of Disney's original film Cinderella, and the 2021 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World right around the corner this beloved icon is getting a make-over.
If like me that though brings up traumatic memories of the birthday cake castle, fear not, because from what we can tell this update sticks with a classic castle color scheme though not one that East Coast Disney fans are quite as familiar with. The refresh is set to bring Cinderella Castle and Sleeping Beauty Castle closer into alignment with each other using a blush pink backdrop, royal blue turrets, and lots of golden trim across the embattlements.
Renovations will be beginning in the next few weeks and will continue throughout the summer season. While this may call for some creative positioning to get the best Castle shots in your photographs, it's important to note that none of the work will interrupt Happily Ever After or Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire!
