The D23 Expo has ended but the weekend was full of news, especially when it comes to the Disney Parks and Resorts. There were so many exciting announcements, but perhaps two of the most exciting were the reports about Star Wars!
The highly anticipated Star Wars-themed lands at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disneyland were given an official name - Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. This announcement was made by Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will feature two attractions: one that puts guests in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance, and the other gives guests the change to fly the Millennium Falcon.
The land will also include characters like BB-8, Chewbacca, members of the First Order, and Rex who will be the DJ at the new cantina. Guests visiting the cantina can order blue milk and more.
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is scheduled to open first at Disneyland in 2019, and then later in the year at the Studios.
Check out a thrilling "fly over" of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge here.
And if that's not enough Star Wars news for you, we have another exciting bit of news. The Walt Disney World Resort is getting a Star Wars-inspired hotel that will be part of the new Disney 360 vacation concept.
This "vacation experience" will immerse guests in part of a Star Wars story including clothing, characters, stories, and more. There's no word yet on the exact location of this new hotel or when it might open but we'll keep you posted.
We'd love to hear your thoughts on these Star Wars announcements from D23. Leave us a comment and let us know what you're thinking.

This hotel sounds pretty interesting, I'm looking forward to seeing how it susses out.
