Fans of Pixar short films have had some pleasant surprises recently as details regarding the newest short "La Luna" have emerged. Earlier this month, Pixar released a synopsis and a still photo from the short, and this week saw even more bits of information about the film surface.
Reportedly attached to the full-length film "Brave," "La Luna" tells the story of a young boy who goes to work for the first time with his father and grandfather. The way the trio commutes to work is a bit unconventional as they row out to sea in an old wooden boat, and the work itself is a mystery.
A couple of things have trickled out this week regarding the short. First is it's length, which at 6:53 makes it the longest short from Pixar to date. Next, a "trusted source" of the Pixar blog who had viewed the short has said that the title "is VERY appropriate" (the source's emphasis). "La Luna" is Spanish and Italian for the moon.
"La Luna" is set to premiere next month at the Annecy International Animation Festival.
