When visiting Pandora - The World of Avatar guests will find a fast-casual dining spot and a drink kiosk, serving food and drinks inspired by the world of Pandora. Satu'li Canteen and Pongu Pongu are both slated to open May 27.
Satu'li Canteen's design was inspired by the bases set up by the Resources Development Administration (RDA) in the film Avatar. [Pandora - The World of Avatar is set in a time after all the films end when the humans and Na'vi exist in peace]. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The restaurant features an on-stage grill where guests can watch food being prepared. The Canteen Bowls on the menu start with a base of quinoa and vegetable salad; red and sweet potato hash; mixed whole-grain and rice; or romaine and kale salad. Next guests can add grilled chicken, beef, sustainable fish, or chili-spiced fried tofu. The bowls are topped with charred onion chimichurri, black bean vinaigrette, or creamy herb dressing.
The menu also featured steamed pods, filled with either cheeseburger ingredients or vegetable curry. Kids can choose grilled chicken or beef, fish or tofu, a hot dog wrapped in Parker House dough, quesadilla, or a steamed pod.
Satu'li Canteen is the first restaurant at Disney World to offer Mobile Order: guests select menu items and pre-pay for their meals using the My Disney Experience app. When arriving at the restaurant guests select the "I'm here" button in the app and their meals are prepared.
Next door to Satu'li Canteen is Pongu Pongu, the drink kiosk. The name means "party party" in Na'vi and the story is that the kiosk was built by a human who befriended the Na'vi and built it as a place to socialize.
At Pongu Pongu the featured drink is the non-alcoholic Frozen Nectar (frozen limeade with Granny Smith Apple and Desert Pear flavors topped with mango boba balls). Other drinks include the Screaming Bansee Margarita and Avatar Private Label Ale.
Both Satu'li Canteen and Pongu Pongu open May 27 with the rest of Pandora.
