Disney's Polynesian Resort has entered a major phase of construction, with additions and renovations happening across the property to prepare for the new Disney Vacation Club Villas that will be available. The very popular Captain Cook's quick service restaurant has been relocated to a temporary location in order to keep serving guests during the construction.
Refurbishments are expected to go through the summer and our friends over at the Disney Food Blog sent a reporter over to see what the new digs have in store for hungry guests.
The new location offers indoor seating, some grab and go fridges, and a cook line serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. DFB reports that service seems to be going easily, and that for a temporary location Disney has done a nice job. Though the temporary menu does include some guest favorites such as Tonga Toast and Pork Nachos, the Dole Whip faithful will have to get their fix in the Magic Kingdom. The Dole Whip machine did not make the transition into the temporary location.
Are you staying at the Polynesian this summer? Do you plan on stopping by the temporary location of Captain Cook's? Leave us a comment and tell us what you think of it.

Yensid - DFB says "If you head to the original location for Captain Cook's, you'll see signs directing you to the temporary location. From the original space, it's just to the right of the set of stairs that bring you to Tambu Lounge."
