Earlier in July month thousands of delegates from around the country attended the 104th Annual NAACP Convention in Orlando, and The Walt Disney Company continued its role as a sponsor of the convention.
The company has served as a sponsor of the event for more than 20 years, and as part of its ongoing commitment to diversity and education, Disney also provides support to the Orlando branch of the NAACP. Disney also supports the organizations youth ACT-SO program (Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympics).
Disney's long-time support of the NAACP nationally and in Central Florida shows a commitment to diversity and equality," said Kran Riley, president of the Orange County branch of the NAACP. "That support helps us continue to make a difference in our community.
Kevin Preston, director of Military Initiatives for The Walt Disney Company participated in a panel discussion about United States veterans during the convention. During the panel Preston spoke about Disney's Heroes Work Here initiative which was launched last year to support military families and veterans transition to civilian life.
Disney has hired more than 1,000 veterans through the initiative since last year and intends to hire hundreds more during the next two years.
The NAACP Convention was held Saturday, July 13 through Wednesday, July 17.

I wish that they had the Heroes Work Here initiative when I got out of the Navy, I would have totally applied.

Maritz a diversified corporation does some of Disney marketing here in the St. Louis, Mo. Area. I am a veteran and devoted Disney fan, are there any job related opening in this region?
