Disney Parks Announces ‘Rock Your Disney Side’ Summer Kick-Off Celebration

Disney is planning the ultimate summertime kick-off party with a 24-hour bi-coastal celebration just before Memorial Day Weekend in May.

After assembling 140 Disney characters in a very large hashtag at Walt Disney World, Disney announced the 'Rock Your Disney Side: 24 Hours' party via Twitter.

The Magic Kingdom, Disneyland, and Disney California Adventure are the host parks for the 24-hour 'Rock Your Disney Side' celebration of summer. The party starts at 6 a.m. on May 23 and runs until 6 a.m. May 24 (local time).

The 'Rock Your Disney Side' celebrations will include events that showcase good vs. evil from classic Disney stories, character meet-and-greets, special entertainment, merchandise, and special food and beverage options. And, guests can dress as their favorite hero or villain as part of the celebration.

Disney is also sponsoring a sweepstakes for guests in celebration of the #DisneySide celebration.

Guests can tweet about how they plan to "rock" their Disney Side this summer in the #DisneySideSweepsEntry for a chance to win a coast-to-coast 7-day/6-night Disney Parks vacation and attend the 24-hour event.
