Disney Phone Lines Busy With Be Our Guest Reservations

Disney phone lines were kept busy today as guests began dialing for reservations for Be Our Guest. Today was the first day reservations could be sought for the newest Fantasyland restaurant, which is set to open for dining November 19.

As anticipated, the Disney dining reservation line (407-WDW-DINE) was very busy this morning as guests called in to snag a date to eat at Be Our Guest. Some guests calling in for reservations could not get connected, receiving a busy signal or the dreaded "your call cannot be completed" message while some of those who managed to snag a line faced wait times up to three hours to make a reservation; others were able to, as they say, get in and get out fairly fast.

There was also some concern over the automated reservation system. It appears the system was not asking for guests' credit card numbers to secure reservations (a credit card is needed to secure a spot at Be Our Guest as well as other "high-end" Disney restaurants). Disney has since said they will honor reservations for Be Our Guest made today - regardless of whether a credit card number was taken or not. Those guests who managed to make a reservation but were not able to give a credit card number can call and add a number to their reservation if they so choose.

Be Our Guest is set to open for business November 19 as part of the new Fantasyland expansion within the Magic Kingdom. It will feature counter service during the day and will switch over to a pricier, sit-down dinner service at 4 P.M. Those still wishing to make reservations can try the dining reservation number given above or by visiting Guest Relations or Guest Services within Disney parks and resorts.

I was one of those on line from 6 AM (my time) till 7:30 when I went to work. All I got were busy signals, if it did answer all it said was all circuits are busy now, or your call cannot be sent. Sadly, I did not get in, until 9:15 (started calling on my break at 9) and it said all reservations were taken. I do wish they would have done this on a weekend so that more of us had a better chance to constant dial. Sally
