There's a rumor swirling about that seems to be gaining some ground and that rumor is that Disney World might possibly maybe be building a gondola-style cable car system on property to link certain resorts and theme parks.
According to several reports, the Reedy Creek Improvement District submitted plans to the South Florida Water Management District this week and despite being described as "vague" the plans are leading some to believe that this new transportation system is in the works.
The plans show buildings, some with floors elevated 100 feet and one with a V-shape, that might be representative of a gondola lift system. These systems are used in other parts of the world to shuttle visitors from place to place.
Reports say that Disney will only say that they have "numerous projects in various stages of development"
If the gondolas do become a reality it looks as though they'll be located south of Epcot and Disney's BoardWalk and east of Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Regardless of what ends up being built, new mode of transportation would make sense given the growing numbers of visitors to Disney World - a number that will likely to continue to grow once Star Wars Land opens at the Studios.
What do you think about the possibility of a gondola-style cable car system at Disney World? Let us know in the comments.

This is pretty cool, but I'm scared to death of these things so I probably won't be joining in the fun.
