After more than a year without one the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa will once again be home to an actual Spa, and this time it's Disney owned and run. Stepping out from behind the cover of a third party contractor Disney Parks and Resorts welcomes home a lush new retreat at the Grand Floridian. "Senses," the first of several new Disney Spas across property, is opening for business on December 17th, 2012.
In true Disney style the Imagineers once again worked their magic in blending the thematic elements of Grand Floridian turn-of-the-century elegance with modern touches and a little special magic. Some 15 luxury treatment rooms offer full-service pampering for adults and even some special treats for little princesses. In addition to the treatment rooms Spa guests will experience lounges and whirlpools infused with the healing nature of Florida citrus and botanicals.
The centerpiece of the spa's lobby is an original mural reflecting old Florida landscape and nature. Glass mosaic tiles in the Jacuzzi rooms further enhance the elegance and sophistication of the spa. All the senses are engaged in an ultimate relaxation experience " flavorful and soothing elixirs, color variations in lighting and orchestral music harmonize with the treatment selected.
Your path for a journey into rejuvenation is chosen by the types of treatments you choose from a menu of indulgent and relaxing options that will include:
Whether you're just looking to escape from the hustle and bustle of the Parks for a few hours or if you're getting a Wedding Party ready for an extraordinary event, Senses " A Disney Spa at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort will be the perfect place to get down to the serious business of relaxation. Reservations can be made beginning November 15, by calling 407-WDW-SPAS (407-939-7727).
As one of the many guests disappointed when the Grand Floridian's Spa closed for it's refurbishment I'm thrilled that Senses is opening soon, and I can't wait to be able to try it out for myself. January 16th, 2013 marks the day that all WDW spas will be Disney owned, and the next day the Saratoga Springs Resort Spa will close for a refurbishment and reimagining all its own. Will you be booking a treatment at the new spa? Leave a comment and let us know!
