Just another week now and the gates will open on the 20th Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. This year guests will be treated to an invasion of Chefs with a world class Garden Marketplace featuring fresh and exciting culinary delights located at Marketplace booths around World Showcase. We've covered the cocktail menu in previous posts, but today I needed to hail the arrival of one very special treat.
Many a diehard Disney fan looks forward to the taste of a smooth and creamy pineapple Dole Whip on their vacation. A veritable pilgrimage of fans takes place every day as they line up at Aventureland's Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom. But this year, the humble Dole Whip is breaking out of it's traditional bounds and heading over to Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival. This year they're kicking up their heals and presenting Dole Whip with a Spiced Rum. Yes, you read that me right... Spiced Rum!
This enticing tropical concoction is only around for a limited time though. The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival runs, March 6 to May 19, 2013. Dole Whips with Rum! Stop the madness! Potentially Delicious.
**Update** Our friends over at the Disney Food Blog were amongst the first in line when the booth opened to give this creation a try! Click on through to read the DFB Review of the Dole Whip with Spiced Rum.
Are you looking forward to giving this new treat a try? Let us know your thought below.

I'm hoping to try one in May too. I'm not a big drinker, but love Dole Whips, like Rum, so it's a combination I just have to taste.

I think it would be better if they used coconut rum instead of spiced rum.

Tried it. I can't say I didn't like it, but being all the rum went to the bottom, you had to mix it all together to keep the rum from over powering the dole whip. I think it would have been better if they had whipped it all together. Of course that's just my opinion.
One thing I did find, for you you gluten allergy sufferers, was a gluten free rasberry ale. Had a nice flavor to it, wouldn't have known it was gluten free.
