Princesses, it's time to find your tiara. runDisney has recently announced details and prices for the 2014 Princess Half Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World.
Race events include the Princess Half Marathon, the Royal Family 5K, the Enchanted 10K, the Glass Slipper Challenge, kids races, a pasta party, breakfast, and the Fit for a Princess Expo.
The Fit for a Princess Expo kicks things off Thursday, February 20 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. All runners must attend the expo in order to pick up their race number and race packet.
One change to the race lineup is the day for the Royal Family 5K. This race has normally taken place on the Saturday of race weekend but next year happens on Friday, February 21. And, next year's race is the "Cinderella Royal Family 5K." The kids races, which are open to all princes and princesses ages 13 and younger, are also scheduled for Friday. That event includes a 200m, 400m, Diaper Dash, and One Mile fun run.
New for 2014 are the Enchanted 10K race and the Glass Slipper Challenge. Racers in the 10K will be running a timed race through Epcot and the Epcot resort areas, while those participating in the Glass Slipper Challenge will be completing 19.3 miles over two days. That event includes the 10K and the Disney Princess Half Marathon. Runners who complete both challenge races will be awarded the Glass Slipper Challenge Medal in addition to the 10K and half marathon medals.
The Princess Half Marathon takes place on Sunday of race weekend over a 13.1 mile course that includes the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Everyone who completes the half marathon within the required pace time will be awarded the newly-designed Princess Half Marathon medal.
Early entry fees run until August 20, and are as follows: Disney Princess Half Marathon - $160; Disney Enchanted 10K - $95; Glass Slipper Challenge - $270; Cinderella Royal Family 5K - $60 per participant; runDisney Kids Race - $15 per Kids Dash participant and $30 per One Mile Run participant. Prices for the half marathon, 10K, and Glass Slipper Challenge increase after August 20.
