Epcot is turning the big 3-0 this year, and D23, Disney's official fan club, is helping the park celebrate. For those of you lucky enough to be planning a trip to Epcot this October 1, here is a list of what to expect to help Epcot ring in their 30th anniversary.
D23 is planning special presentations about the history of Epcot in the World Showcase. Each presentation is included in the park admission ticket, but seating is limited. Here's the schedule:
In addition, guests can attend "an anniversary moment" at 3 PM in the America Gardens Theater. This will include performances by Mariachi Cobre and Voices of Liberty plus Disney leaders will be making appearances. Seating for this is also limited.
There will also be a "special 30th anniversary tag" at that night's IllumiNations: Reflections of the Earth. These special events are set to take place October 1 only at Epcot.

I'd love to hear that talk with Marty Skylar, so sad that I won't be down there that weekend this year.

Ooh...maybe if we're lucky they'll podcast these talks and post them on the parks blog.

Maybe they'll announce how they are going to put a bunch of money into the Imagination pavilion and turn it back into the original ride and imagination works and make millions of people happy! (I can dream right?)

I do hope somebody records the events and posts them. I don't know if I can make it. I was there on Oct 22, 1982 and I remember a lot of the stuff that was there. I still go to Epcot at least twice a year.
