It looks like the Boulangerie Patisserie, the French bakery area in Epcot's World Showcase, will be expanding and undergoing enhancements in the future.
Not too long ago, Disney World filed a notice of commencement with Orange County, Florida, to enlarge the bakery. A second floor addition, a counter-service restaurant and a 3,000 square foot kitchen are on tap for expected improvements.
Though Disney itself has not come out with an official announcement or statement on the bakery expansion, a recent article with Jerome Bocuse points out change is on the way for Boulangerie Patisserie. Bocuse, who is head over the comapny in charge of restaurant operations in the French pavilion, gave the following insight into the bakery's expansion:
We're going to build a brand new bakery in a new building. It's going to be very close to the bakeries that you see in France today. More like a modern bakery with sandwiches. We will cook all of our bread all day long and make sandwiches with that fresh bread.
The same article went on to say the new and improved bakery should be open May 2013.

I love this bakery, we stopped in when I was there in February and it was the perfect spot for a mid-day break. I'm really looking forward to the expansion, especially if they can make the seating a little better.

This is fantastic!! We always make at least one stop here. Cannot go to Epcot and not stop here. This place is my weakness. Love those desserts!!
