Disney Springs is packed to the brim with new delights, but we're telling you right now that if you've got a sweet tooth you need to get yourself to Amorette's Patisserie as soon as possible. This charming little patisserie is a an artists workshop in every delightful sweet thing. And for a limited time this fall - the pastry artists at Amorette's Patisserie are creating perfect little apple spice cakes to celebrate the season.
The Fall Petit Cake is pretty as a picture, with its fondant cover decorated to resemble a birch branch, with a heart and monogram carved into it. Thin laser cut leaves of chocolate in fall colors rest upon the top, and a thin twill of apple fruit leather accents the top. As pretty as it looks, when cutting into it you'll only be happier.
As soon as you break the fondant coating (which is actually very tasty for fondant) the scent of apple and spice delicately wafts up to your nose. The moist spice chiffon cake is layered with milk jam, chocolate biscuit, an elegant apple compote, and light as air caramel mousse. Each layer was delicious, and a remarkable compliment to the one next to it. I was particularly impressed with the layer of apple compote, for it's beautiful texture and fresh apple flavor.
At first we were going to take our lovely little spice cake back to the resort room for later, but we were told that the delicate nature of the cake wouldn't allow for long transport in the heat we were experiencing. This is something that you should consider when planning your trip to Amorette's. Luckily the shop has limited seating and some standing tables for you to eat at. They are more than happy to pack your treats up for you, but during the warm months you might want to make sure that it's your last stop at Disney Springs.
Have you been to Amorette's yet? What was your favorite treat? Tell us in the comments.
