We polled our fans over on Facebook to find out what their favorite Walt Disney World Resort Beach is. It's no surprise that the intense theming at this original WDW Resort goes a long way to create dedicated hotel fans. That sweeping tropical feeling can truly transport you to another time and place, without a doubt Disney's Polynesian Resort ran away with the title!
Disney fans love the premium view from the Polynesian looking out across the Seven Seas Lagoon to the Castle in the distance. The real clincher though, watching the Fireworks! I can't say that I blame them one bit; the Polynesian is one of my favorites too. Don't just take my word for it, see what the fans are saying:
Glenn McCabe says 'Poly...nothing beats fireworks on the beach...'
Lia Ladzinski agrees 'Poly hands down for the fireworks. And yes- they do pipe the music in.'
Jill Deguilio-Decarlo confesses her love 'I the Polynesian!!'
And Dawn Hopkins Pagano's let's us know that Disney will even make a little extra magic for you at the Polynesian with her sharing 'Poly! Luau beach is where I got married!'
Dotted with hammocks, swings and lounge chairs for you to rest in, I can't imagine a better place on property just to kick back and watch the activity on the water. The Polynesian's beach is also the first stop on the Electrical Water Pageant, which was a fan favorite activity for other resort beaches.
This special treat for resort guests (thanks to Auntie Rain for the creative commons picture) can be viewed from the beach and boat dock at the Polynesian, consisting of fourteen, 40-foot long lighted floats drifting by, you'll see leaping dolphins, whales, sea monsters, and a patriotic tribute to the nation. The creative water parade is a Disney classic and can be seen every night starting sharply at 9:00PM.
Next time you're at the Walt Disney World Resort, why not make a stop at the phenomenal Polynesian. A friendly cast, great food, unique shopping, and the best beach on property make it a monorail stop not to be missed.
Are you a Polynesian Resort Fan? Do you have a Favorite WDW Beach? Leave me a comment and let me know if you agree with the Facebook crew!

Hi Kristen,
Well I think you know Scrappy & I are both big fans of the Poly and we stay there any chance we get. I think what keeps us coming back is the serenity of the resort. It just has the feel of the South Seas to us. We could just sit on the bench between Captain Cook's and the Volcano pool for hours and just listen to the music that is lightly piped through out the resort. We do sit on our balcony at times for quite some time and just watch the boats going back and forth across Seven Seas Lagoon, listen to the sounds of the boat horns, the whistle from the train in the Magic Kingdom, and of course the water pageant at night. We have watched the fireworks from our room and from the beach and both places are spectacular! The entire resort is enchanting.
You should also mention http://www.tikimanpages.com/tiki/ for anyone that wants to check out anything about the Poly. Steve has done a wonderful job over the years from documenting the history keeping us informed on future updates. It's a great website! Maybe we will see you there sometime.
Aloha!
