Finding Beer, Wine and Mixers at Disney’s Value Resorts

Not all of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels have a bar or lounge on property away from their pools. It's sad, but true. However for those that still want to kick back and enjoy an alcoholic beverage in the air conditioned comfort of your room, simply head to your resort gift shop to check out the limited selection of alcoholic beverages to be found in the shop's coolers.

At All Star Sports you should head to the main lobby building, Stadium Hall, to check out Sport Goofy Gifts & Sundries. At All Star Music it's Maestro Mickey's Gift Shop located in the main lobby building, Melody Hall. At All Star Movies make your way to Donald's Double Feature Gift Shop in the main lobby building, Cinema Hall.

  • At all of these locations you will find
  • Wine Coolers & Hard Lemonades
  • Inexpensive Wines that vary by resort.
  • Small bottles of spirits: vodka, gin, rum, tequila, etc.
  • Domestic Beers from the Budweiser Company, and imported beers like Heineken.
  • And Mixers such as club soda, tonic, ginger ale.

Would you like to purchase beer or wine for your room even though you're not at a Disney Value resort? All Gift Shops at DVC Resorts also offer a selection of consumables for your purchasing pleasure.

You will find that the prices are considerably higher for these bottles than you would pay for the same product at home. For instance, the single serve bottles of Beringer White Zinfandel costs $7.00 a serving, where as I can buy a regular size bottle (750ml) at home for only $5. The mark up is high because what you are really paying for is the convenience of being able to pick up a cold and frosty beer or bottle of wine right at the resort. Resort policy dictates that the purchase of alcoholic beverages is limited to two per person. On Sunday beer sales don't begin until 1pm.

Do you pick up a bottle or two in the gift shop when you're on vacation? Leave a comment and let me know!

There is something to be said for that level of convenience. I tend to drink microbrews and wines at home, and it sounds like there is a good selection of non-alcoholic options as well.

Thanks for posting this, I didn't know that there was a 1 PM time on beer sales on Sunday. Gotta love the "blue" laws.

The last few trips we have gone on, we have taken a trip to Downtown Disney early in the trip, and dispatched one member of our party to take the trip across the parking lot to the Hess. Much cheaper there. :)

We also pick up some water & milk for the kids!

On our first day, we drive to Goodings or Walmart Supercenter (on I-192) and pick up noshes, wine and beer to keep in our hotel fridge. (We drive to WDW)

I always hit up Hess or the walmart. If you are staying at the value the walmart usually carries the aluminum bottles that they serve at the hotel but you can get a 12 back for the same price as two of the hotels.
