A Walt Disney World vacation offers something for everyone, and even regular visitors who take and annual trip or more can be treated to new and exciting experiences. However, there are also those things that fans come to know and love, those things that you just couldn't imagine going to Disney and not doing. This is my "must do" list of five things that make every Disney vacation my best Disney trip ever.
Ride the Monorail - It doesn't matter which Parks I plan on attending or if I can just take a bus or a boat, the monorail makes me happy. I think that to me the monorail is truly a symbol and psychological cue that I have arrived at Disney. I giggle like a school girl when I see the monorail and I've been known to ride it around just to kill some time.
Eat a Dole Whip - For me no Disney trip is complete without a Dole Whip in my tummy. Magic Kingdom is my favorite Walt Disney World Park, so I prefer to grab my classic pineapple soft serve from Aloha Isle. However, if for some reason I'm not headed to the Magic Kingdom I make sure that I hit Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and head to the Pineapple Lanai for a sweet treat.
Buy All The Souvenirs - The Polynesian also happens to be one of my favorite spots to get in some Disney Shopping on my trips. I love to buy fun souvenirs for myself, and my family members. I buy pins and ear hats, t-shirts and Duffys, shopping is a marathon Disney activity that I look forward to with each trip because I always come across something that I just have to have or reminds me of a loved one that couldn't make it.
Watch the Fireworks - I love fireworks. While Fantasmic! is my favorite nighttime show at Walt Disney World, I get pretty pouty if I can't catch Wishes. There's just something about the sky lighting up with sparkles high over Cinderella Castle that makes me catch my breath. Perhaps it's because the show (and the special holiday versions of it as well) makes me feel like a little girl again. Even as an adult it transports me back to looking up into the magical night sky, holding my aunt's hand and wishing on a star.
Try Something New - For the past five years I've made sure that every time I go to Walt Disney World I try something new. It's easy to get in a Disney rut and only stick with the hotels, shows, and attractions that you already know and love. I've made it a priority to step out of my comfort zone and experience all Walt Disney World has to offer. If there is one "must do" I hope you'll take away from reading this article it would be to try at least one new thing every time you go to Disney. Go to a new restaurant, rent a boat, give an attraction you're not so sure about a try. Disney always has something new just waiting for you to arrive.
What are your "Must Dos" to stay happy at Walt Disney World? Do you have anything that you would be sad if you had to miss it on a trip? Leave a comment below and tell me what you can't enjoy a Disney vacation without!

We have a few must do things at Disney too. A Mickey ice cream bar every day, sometimes two! At least one Pineapple Dole Whip, but who are we kidding that just leads to another and then another. And one of my absolute favorites, pick a pearl. This year my little guy picked for me and got twins. This lead the hubs to feel the need to give it a try and picked me a very nice almost 9mm! I love saving them from each trip! Oh how I love Disney!

Those are great "Must-Dos" Kris and Tabatha! I haven't seen Yehaa Bob yet, but I've heard great things about the show. Maybe I'll make that my new thing for February.

Two photo ops we always do - one is the JACKSON sign semi-hidden at the Studios on the street where they have the Osborne lights. Our last name is Jackson and we have many photos through the years in that spot! The other is in front of the giant dragon at Downtown Disney (Lego store) -- with our mouths open, like the dragon. Yes it's silly but...Disney.
