Our friends over at the Disney Food Blog recently posted the Full Menus for the 2017 Outdoor Kitchens at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. I'll be heading down for one whirlwind day in March and I'm making my plan of attack to sip and snack my way through this first burst of Spring.
A record 15 Outdoor Kitchens will dot the World Showcase Promenade featuring farm fresh recipes straight from the gardens. The Disney Chefs are bringing out their best seasonal fare to delight and encourage guests. I'm sure I won't get to taste everything I want to, but I'm going to try my best. Here's a peek at just a few of the things on my list!
The Cider House is back in the United Kingdom Pavilion and I'm looking forward to indulging in the Pear Cider-brined Shredded Corned Beef with Braised Cabbage and Pears and Branston Dressing. I'm pretty sure that my husband will be pairing that with a Caribe Blood Orange from the Florida Beer Company.
New this year in the Canada Pavilion is the Northern Bloom Outdoor Kitchen! I'm delighted to say that a fan favorite that had dropped off the Food & Wine Festival menu will be on the menu - the Nanaimo Bar. Yes, Canada's favorite confection with it's buttery custard and gooey chocolate will be able to be experienced this year at Northern Bloom. You know what else you'll be able to get? A Maple Popcorn Shake with Crown Royal Maple Whiskey. There... how does that sound?
Fluer de Lys in the France Pavilion is a must stop for me for the Macaron Chocolat Framboise: i.e. a giant Raspberry Macaroon with Chocolate Fudge and Raspberry Jam. I'll be pairing that with a perfectly pink La Vie en Rose Grey Goose Frozen Slushy with flavors of cranberry and orange. Who doesn't love Paris in the springtime?
The first time I heard of Frushi - I knew that I had to eat it. Finally I'll be able to hit the Hanami Outdoor Kitchen in the Japan Pavilion for my first taste of this fun fruity take on sushi. Fresh fruits are tucked inside a raspberry coconut rice, and sprinkled with toasted coconut for a truly inspired treat that will delight you're inner child.
At Urban Farm Eats I'll be going for the Seared Pork Tenderloin with Mushroom Ragout, Spring Vegetables and Fingerling Potatoes, because I'm going to need something hearty in my tummy so I can try the Urban Fairy Cocktail. I have no idea what an Urban Fairy Cocktail is, but the name is so cute I'm already sold.
At Bauernmarkt: Farmer's Market in the German Pavilion, Potato Pancakes are on the menu with a choice of two toppings. When ordering up these tasty bites with Caramalized Ham, Onions, and Herbed Sour Cream, or go vegan and order them topped with fresh house-made applesauce. I love a great potato pancake.
The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival's Outdoor Kitchens are open daily from 11:00AM to 9:00PM throughout the duration of the Festival. But as with all things Disney unexpected closure or menu changes could occur.
To read the Full Menus for the 2017 Outdoor Kitchens at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival head over to the Disney Food Blog. Just like during their Food & Wine Festival coverage, they've got a photo archive of returning foods too! Our thanks goes out to them for exclusive use of their images in this article.
