Guest Review: Bon Voyage Breakfast At Trattoria al Forno

Set sail on a tangled adventure at the Bon Voyage Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno, located at Disney's Boardwalk. Breakfast here is a character meal featuring Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Tangled, and Ariel and Prince Eric from the Little Mermaid (characters are subject to change without notice).

Breakfast includes a basket of pastries for the table to share, a fruit salad starter, and your choice of plated entree, as well as a non alcoholic beverage. Breakfast is a set price of around $36 per adult and $22 per child ages 3-9, but you should keep in mind that the price does change seasonally. The Disney dining plan is accepted and costs 1Table Service Credit.

The pastry basket is a fun nod to the characters that will be stopping by your table. Along with croissants, and mini muffins, there is a Tangled sun cookie for Rapunzel and a shell with an edible pearl for Ariel. Even better, they are served in a frying pan! We enjoyed the pastries, although they are pretty standard. Aside from some fun shapes, not much is special about them. The fruit bowl was pretty standard as well, but the fruit was fresh and delicious.

For our entrees we had the Golden Frittata (bacon, piquillo pepper, scallion, and pecorino romano cheese) served with roasted potatoes and the Royale Breakfast (oak grilled steak, cheesy egg torte, crispy onions and roasted potatoes). Both meals were excellent. The steak is cooked to your liking.

We stuck to the basics when it came to beverages. Coffee and orange juice. However, there are specialty coffees, cocktails and wine for an extra cost.

The characters come to the table one at a time and we had great interactions with all of them. It also seemed that they have it timed so that you see all of the characters before your meal comes out. We actually loved that since you didn't have to stop eating and have your food get cold while you interacted with them. The restaurant can get loud as do most character meals with all the kids excited to meet their favourite characters. If a nice quiet breakfast is what you're looking for, you may want to explore other options.

Overall, this was a great dining experience. It was our second time here and we will for sure be back. As a bonus, the Boardwalk makes a great location for a pre or post breakfast stroll.
