Old Key West Resort offers a laid back approach to your Disney vacation in more ways than one. The beautiful flowers and Floridian beach inspired decor will have you slowing down to take it all in. Swimming at the luxurious sandcastle pool and taking a boat ride to Disney Springs will leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed. The management staff will bend over backwards to make you feel welcome. And you can find a respite from the stress of 180-day Advance Dining Reservation roulette at Olivia's Cafe.
We easily secured a same-day lunch reservation for three. The nautical decor was inviting and casual, the staff warm and friendly. Ceiling fans inspired by palm trees create a generous, but not overwhelming airflow. The walls are adorned with common Floridian fish, signs celebrating the Florida Keys, and boating accessories. Blues, greens, and yellows evoke thoughts of sand, sea, and sun.
The food selections were mostly delicious. Our party started with conch fritters, which are reminiscent of a fishy hush puppy. The fritters themselves are tasty, but the dipping sauce makes them highly addicting. Don't try to share an order with more than two people! For the main course, we tried Olivia's Classic Burger, Key West Salmon Salad, and Mallory Square Cobb Salad. The burger was just ok. It was a little bit lacking in flavor with a slightly spongy texture, but fortunately that was the one loser in an otherwise stellar meal. Both the Salmon Salad and the Cobb Salad were fantastic - fresh and flavorful with ample portion size. Our server told us that the Cobb Salad is a Cast Member favorite.
Because we chose to eat at Olivia's for our lunch prior to an evening runDisney event, we did not have dessert, but of course in addition to delicious sounding dishes like Mascarpone Cheesecake and Banana Bread Pudding Sundae, Olivia's also serves the traditional Key Lime Pie.
We enjoyed Olivia's Cafe tremendously and we would readily eat here again. With Disney Springs opening so many new restaurants nearby, reservations at Olivia's promise to remain plentiful. I enthusiastically recommend lunch at Olivia's Cafe for anyone who is interested in slowing down the pace of his or her Walt Disney World Vacation or needing a last minute or large party Advance Dining Reservation.
Olivia's Cafe takes both the Disney Dining Plan, and Tables in Wonderland. Have you eaten at this out of the way treasure? Leave a comment below and tell us what you liked best!

I've never been here myself, but it has always been on my list as one of those out of the way places all my friends like. Thanks so much for another great review Holly!

Very luckily for me, my parents bought DVC points in the first year of operation so Old Key West has been our home resort from when it was simply called *the* Disney Vacation Club.
Over the last 20 years I've been about ten times and each time we make a point of eating at Olivia's - for breakfast, and normally dinner. A few years ago I felt the dinner menu was trying to be a bit too high-end but they seem to have merged the lunch and the dinner menus and it is now a far more casual restaurant...just perfect for this setting. Had some fabulous meals there over the years and very few even average plates. The best thing for us is that it's in a very safe setting so we're happy to let the kids go and play in the games room or in the basketball court and know they'll be OK.
I still wish that OKW made more use of the 'library' space just by the main check-in area. This could make a great bar. I also think they could support another restaurant...maybe a proper Cuban place??
