The Hall of Presidents reopened yesterday at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom Park. The attraction returns after a year-long refurbishment that updated show content, as well as adding high-impact projection, sound, lighting to upgrade the entire theater experience.
The Hall of Presidents carries a legacy and passion for American history that began with Walt Disney himself. The tradition began with the creation of a lifelike President Abraham Lincoln developed for the 1964-65 New York World's Fair. When Walt Disney World was underway advances in technology allowed for an experience that gave guests an even more immersive way to meet the US Presidents and learn a thing or two about American history along the way. What began with a small exhibition grew into the anchoring attraction for Liberty Square.
In addition to the upgraded theater systems, and a new pre-show display, the re-opening also marked the debut of the Audio-Animatronic figure of President Donald J. Trump. This figure features the latest advances in technology, which Disney says enables smoother and more lifelike movements. As has been tradition since the 1990s, President Trump personally recorded the voice work for The Hall of Presidents show.
The internet's reaction to the debut of the new Audio-Animatronic Trump has been interesting, with many a new meme being generated using its image. Love him or hate him, this new addition to the Hall of Presidents will have a lasting place in Disney History.
