Disney's Animal Kingdom is getting ready to celebrate the opening of the all-new Harambe Marketplace later this month. The new marketplace will feature merchandise shops and new food choices from four walk-up windows.
The walk-up windows in the marketplace will be serving African-inspired street food and will include seating for more than 200 guests.
The story behind the Harambe Market (according to Disney) is that it serves as the center of commerce and a place to welcome visitors who come to the village to explore the animal of Africa on the reserve.
The new restaurants are: Kitamu Grill which will serve skewered chicken and a Kabob Flatbread Sandwich; Famous Sausages where you'll find corn dogs dipped in a curry-infused batter; Chef Mwanga's which is servicing spice-rubbed Karubi Rib; and Wanjohi Refreshments where guests will find alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Some of the beverage offerings include Safari Amber Lager, six South African wines, and a Starr of Harambe frozen cocktail with Starr African Rum and mango puree.
The Harambe Marketplace is scheduled to open in late May.
