I must admit, I stole this post. Our friend Jen over at Mickeyfix.com put together a "How To Host A Haunted Mansion Halloween Party" post and the whole Grown-ups team is so into it! I pulled together a few fun tips to help make your soiree something special.

Grown-ups can have fun on Halloween too and Disney fans have the best fall back theme of all when they choose to use The Haunted Mansion as inspiration. Hosting a party isn't difficult, just follow these simple tips.

Tip 1: Keep your guest list small. Invite a few friends over for the evening, it's perfectly fine to host a party of more intimate size. My home is small, so I limit guests to the number of places there are to comfortably sit.

Tip 2: Pick up themed sweet treats from a local bakery. No one will care who made cake as long as there is something sinful to indulge in. Pre-party stress can be greatly reduced if you keep food easy, many restaurants have small catering menus that can help a lot.

Tip 3: A little spooky music in the background will help you set the mood. If you want some entertainment other than music, consider a traditional game. Tip 4: Create a themed beverage. With or without alcohol, a fun a memorable drink is a boon. I like freezing gummy worms in cranberry juice for some creep-tastic ice cubes.

Tip 5: Don't forget the trick-or-treaters! While getting ready for your Halloween guests, don't forget a bowel of candy for the kids. It's also nice to put a few pieces of the sweets in take away bags to give you guests when they leave.
