Frontera Cocina's bar sits in the middle of the restaurant space, between brightly color walls and soaring glass windows. The simple design offers counter seating with comfortable bar chairs surrounding a black granite counter. Light playing on glass is a reoccurring design theme in the restaurant and the bar are is no different as the most beautiful bottles are showcased on a lit bar-back display.

The drink menu at Frontera Cocina is colorful and versatile with a wide range of beer, wine, and cocktail offerings to suit just about any taste. However as one might expect from authentic Mexican dining, there is a focus on tequila.

To create the bright and exciting beverage program for his restaurant Chef Rick Bayless teamed up with the experts at Epcot's fan favorite bar La Cava del Tequila. A lot of creativity went into coming up with some whole new tastes made with the best tequilas anywhere. La Cava fans will even be happy to know that the delicious and unique La Cava Avocado Margarita can be found on the menu along with six other margaritas that will help you adjust your latitude.

The most interesting selection to me was the Watermelon Pink Flamingo Margarita, for the delightful imagery it evoked in my head. I love watermelon, and on a hot day it's is a refreshing. The Watermelon Pink Flamingo is made with Ambhar blanco tequila, watermelon juice, fresh lime, Torres orange liqueur. The exceptionally smooth Ambhar tequila has an almost tropical feeling to it that pairs magnificently with the fresh watermelon and pop of lime. The heavier Torres Orange sings of the Valencia peel and creates a deeper base note to the heady cocktail.

Every review I've read of the Pink Flamingo agrees that the refreshing properties of this sensationally sippable iced drink is the way to cool off, on a hot day. So belly up to the bar, order some of the gourmet chips and guac, and refresh yourself with a Watermelon Pink Flamingo.
