Despite the fact that you can find a good number of characters around Epcot and there are enough attractions to keep the kids entertained and amused, there is sometimes a misconception that Epcot is the "grown up" theme park. But we're here to tell you about the Kidcot Fun Stops, which are a great way to keep the kids entertained as you wander through the World Showcase.
The Kidcot Fun Stops are located in each pavilion in World Showcase and it's where the kids can have some fun while mom and dad take a quick break. Plus, quite a few of the stops are inside, so they're also a great way to cool off when everyone in your group is melting!
Wherever you start in World Showcase, be sure to stop at the first Kidcot Stop and let the kids choose a cardboard Duffy the Disney Bear or Perry the Platypus.
The kids are able to color as much or as little of these cardboard figures as they want at each Kidcot location. After the kids have a chance to decorate Duffy or Perry, the cast members take a few minutes to talk to the kids about their native countries. They also teach the kids how to say "hello" in their native language and they'll stamp the back of the cardboard figure with a stamp from the country.
These cardboard figures are a great free souvenir for the kids! In a couple of the countries - usually Morocco, China, and Japan - the cast members might also write your child's name in their native alphabet. A very cool "extra" from the Kidcot Fun Stops!
Another fun item for traveling around Epcot is the World Showcase Passport. You can find these at the Port of Entry and Disney Traders shops located at Showcase Plaza just as you enter the World Showcase area. The passports come with a Mickey Mouse button and stickers for each country, and when you visit the Kidcot Fun Stops the cast members will stamp the child's passport with that country's stamp.
The Kidcot Fun Stops are located in each pavilion in World Showcase but sometimes you have to look a little harder to find them. The locations are as follows:
Thanks so much to Traci C. for sharing this great guest post with us! Also thanks to Sam Howzit and Brian Harts for use of their images and adaptation through Creative Commons. I think I may need one of the fun passports to get stamped on my next trip to Epcot! What about you? Have you enjoyed the Kidcot stops with your family?
