Outside the showcase in the Cars Courtyard guests can take part in a rockin' good time during DJ's Ready! Set! Party Time! The dance party, games, and photo opportunities bring even more Cars themed fun to the Park. A few snack carts and souvenir booths are also set up in the area to keep the racing theme. It's the ultimate party on wheels.

Inside rookies will come face to face with Lightning McQueen, who appears live on stage in a "high-octane first-of-its-kind new show". The new theater space features a 17-foot-tall wraparound screen that stretches more than 200 feet end to end. During the 10-minute show, Lightning shares racing knowledge gathered over the course of his illustrious career. But when things go wrong, as they often do for Lightening, he knows the importance of calling in your friends for back-up.

Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy is the next element in continuing Disney's Hollywood Studios multi-year transformation that began last year with Toy Story Land. Next up, coming Aug. 29, 2019, visitors will be able to live their own Star Wars adventures in the new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

Our thanks goes out to the folks at Disney Food Blog for use of their images.
There's a lot of fun happening at Disney's Hollywood Studios! What are you most looking forward to?

Great review and it certainly sounds like a nice addition to the park.

How well does courtyard fit into the surrounding area, my one point is that it doesn't look as immersive with minimal theming and being placed in between Rock and Roller-coaster and Tower of Terror?

I think it fits in fine. The actual building of Rockin' Rollercoaster isn't that exciting, and it has the same old Hollywood studio building feel to it.
