Disney's Bay Lake Tower is the adjacent property to the Contemporary resort and holds the Disney Vacation Club villas. Standing tall at fifteen stories, villas feature great views of common areas, Bay Lake and the Magic Kingdom.
As you enter the elegantly themed main lobby, the check in desk and friendly cast members are awaiting your arrival to help you check in. The lobby is quite small but gives a nice homey feel. There is a desk on the far left for Disney Vacation Club members to check in for the Top of the World Lounge, which is located on the sixteenth floor. The lounge is open in the evenings for members and their guests and offers a variety of drinks, light snacks and an amazing view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. They even pump in the music!
Aside from the lounge, there are no restaurants located in the resort, but fear not! Head up to the fifth floor and cross the skyway bridge over to Disney's Contemporary Resort and you will find plenty of options from quick service (Contempo Cafe) to signature dining (California Grill) and even a character meal (Chef Mickey's)! Gift shops can also be found here.
Back over at Bay Lake Tower you will find an array of villas that will suit your party's needs including studios, one bedroom, two bedroom and even a Three Bedroom Grand Villa that sleeps up to 12 people. Recently, we had the pleasure of staying in one of the three bedroom grand villas. And a theme park view at that!
These villas are two stories tall so we had access from the fifteenth and sixteenth floors. As you enter, there is a bathroom to the left and staircase to the right. You walk into a nice living area with windows that are two stories giving lots of natural light and amazing views.
There is a full kitchen complete with fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and cupboards stocked with dishes and cookware. Off the kitchen is a balcony looking towards Cinderella Castle.
On the other side of the room was the master bedroom which had its own bath and full balcony.
Upstairs was a small living area with a pull out couch and TV and two more bedrooms. Both bedrooms had two queen size beds and ensuite bathrooms. A laundry room was also in the villa.
To say this villa was stunning would be an understatement. The modern elegant decor was beautiful, the villa was very spacious and the views amazing, especially at night when we could watch the fireworks from our living room or balcony. There was even a channel on the TV that plays the music for the fireworks.
Bay Lake Tower is our home resort and we absolutely love it! Being able to walk to Magic Kingdom is a huge perk. You can also take the monorail or water taxi from the Contemporary. Transportation to other theme parks and Disney Springs are by bus from the Contemporary, however for Epcot, you may also take the monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Centre and transfer to the Epcot monorail.
