A Look Inside A One-Bedroom Villa At Disney’s Riviera Resort

Recently I returned from a comfortable stay in a One-Bedroom Villa at the newest Disney Vacation Club accommodations, Disney's Riviera Resort. This was my first visit to the property designed to evoke the feeling of Europe's Mediterranean Riviera Resorts. The property made its opening debut December 16, 2019 and allows guests easy access to both Hollywood Studios and Epcot via the Disney Skyliner. Inside the doors of Disney's Riviera Resort guests are greeted by a chic lobby with comfortable seating and friendly cast members waiting to help you. Here you can also find a DVC Desk, La Boutique gift shop, and Le Petit Cafe which serves coffee and pasty in the morning, and cocktails in the evening.

The halls of Disney's Riviera Resort are charming in their own right, dotted with unique artworks, Disney family photos, and hidden mickeys. Unlike several DVC properties this hotel's hallways are all interior, making it an excellent choice to stay at during the rainy season.

Immediately upon entering the One-Bedroom Villa Guests step into a nice sized foyer. The square footage in the One-Bedroom at the Riviera (813 sq. ft. in case you're wondering) is perfect for 2-4 adults or a family of up to 6 if the children are smaller.

This large space includes access to the bathroom, laundry room, and storage closets. If you have a 2 bedroom lock-off villa the doorway to get to the second bedroom is also located here.

The front room has an open floor plan that is perfect for families to gather together and relax. The full kitchen with dining area comes with all the Disney Vacation Club standards to allow you to cook and serve a full meal. Or relax and unpack your To-Go options from the Resort Restaurants.

The seating in the living area of this room included a couch, two chairs, and square ottoman. There is also a side table, coffee table, and television. You'll also find artwork dotted around the room that brings in touches of Disney elements in a European artistic style.

Now, I tend to spend a good amount of time in my hotel room on working vacations. While the blue velvet couch is absolutely beautiful, it's really not very comfortable to sit on. My hope is that they will soften up a bit with continued use.

Some of the furniture does double duty by folding out into sleeping spaces that accommodate a total of three people. Disney's Riviera One-Bedroom Villas sleep a total of five, plus one child under 3 in a crib. A queen-size Murphy Bed folds down from above the blue velvet couch. The bed itself is much nicer to sleep on then the old-style fold out beds.

When the bed is pulled down it reveals a charming art piece of Perter Pan and friends soaring over London, as well as extra storage space and USB charging ports.

Across the room there is a second twin sized bed hidden beneath the television.

There is a doorway off of the living area that leads to a small balcony with two chairs and a small side table on it. The use of this area is really dependent on your individual tastes. I've been known to enjoy having my windows open and have a seat on the balcony during vacation. However at Disney's Riviera Resort my room location made a big different in my comfort level of doing so.

My room was located on a lower level floor looking right out over the Resort's Porte Cochere. Not only was there a constant flow of guests entering and leaving the resort right outside me window, but one morning I opened my curtains to see a cadre of cast members all lined up for some sort of inspection. The next time I make a reservation at Disney's Riviera I will be asking for a higher floor to have a little extra privacy.

Just off of the living area is where you'll find the master bedroom of this villa. A large space with it's own sitting area, workspace, dresser, closet, television, and king-size bed. It's a luxe little retreat that creates the perfect spot to relax after a long day of touring.

There are beautiful little details in the bedroom that help to create the magical feeling. Well, besides simply being the most beautiful room I have ever stayed in at Walt Disney World. The large upholstered headboard has a charming Hidden Mickey detail and the curtains contain the resort logo.

Through the bedroom is one entrance into the massive marble-tiled bathroom. The stunning space exudes luxury from every corner and detail with a stand along spa tub, duel head shower with bench, a total of three sinks, and a privy. The tub room and shower room have sliding doors that can be closed off so that more than one person can bathe or get ready at a time. The shower room also can be accessed through the front foyer.

I'll be honest, this bathroom is the whole reason I wanted to stay in this room and it did not disappoint.

I have stayed in many DVC One-bedroom Villas over the past decade, and I can't remember enjoying as room as much as this one previously. It was beautiful, functional, had easy pool access, offered direct Park transportation that wasn't a bus, the resort restaurants served delicious foods, and everyone I met was a joy to talk to. I highly recommend Disney's Riviera Resort for grown-ups and families alike.
