As summer speeds by us, we find ourselves daydreaming about a Disney cruise. However, a cruise isn't in the cards right now so instead we'll catch up on some exciting Disney Cruise Line news instead! Let's dive in and see what's new.
Earlier this spring Disney Cruise Line announced that the Disney Magic is returning to New York in the fall of 2017 for cruises to Canada and the Bahamas. The Disney Wonder is returning to Galveston, Texas in 2017 also with sailings to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
Speaking of the Disney Wonder, the ship is getting some enhancements this fall including Marvel Super Hero Academy, new play areas in the Oceaneer Club, Tiana's Place restaurant, a new English pub for adults, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and much more.
Disney Cruise Line was recently named the second best mega ship cruise line in Travel + Leisure's 2016 World's Best Awards.
If you're sailing to Nassau, Bahamas be aware that the United States Embassy in Nassau has issued a security awareness message to citizens of the United States. During the first half of this year the Embassy has noted a significant increase in armed robberies.
The celebrity guest list has been announced for this year's TCM Classic Cruise on the Disney Fantasy November 12-19. Celebrities include Leslie Caron, Mitzi Gaynor, Jerry Lewis, Kim Novak, and more. TCM host Robert Osborne is also sailing.
And finally, there are reports that Disney is looking at Egg Island in the Bahamas as a location for another cruise port. According to media reports locals and government officials are not happy about these possible plans.
