Riding the wave of excitement from the past weeks openings of Pizza Ponte and The Edison, the next new addition to Disney Springs comes in the form of Maria & Enzo's Ristorante. Brought to Disney by long time collaborators, Patina Restaurant Group, this table service restaurant features a Southern Italian menu from Michelin star-rated Chef Theo Schoenegger.
As with all Disney venues, a rich backstory sets the stage for a beautiful performance. The owners of the air terminal turned restaurant are Maria and Enzo, an immigrant couple who met in Italy before moving to Florida. An airline pilot, Enzo was drawn to an abandoned airline terminal, and when the opportunity presented itself they bought the place and opened up their dream restaurant in order to share great Italian cuisine to the town folk Disney Springs.
Guests find themselves in a gleaming 1930s airline terminal. The golden age of travel pervades the atmosphere with details including soaring 50 foot ceilings, huge windows, the sounds of jazz music, and colorful posters for world-wide destinations. A huge art-deco globe hangs overhead with points marking the locations of Disney World, Disneyland, and Walt Disney's hometown of Marceline, Missouri. The travel theme continues to create magic,
as randomly selected guests may even get lucky by being "upgraded" to First Class Lounge upon their arrival.
The menu at Maria & Enzo's Ristorante looks like it has something good to eat for just about everyone. Features include a solid selection of cheese and charcuterie, inspired soups and small plates, a variety of handmade pastas, steaks, chops, and fish. Oh and, lest I forget, there are plenty of sweet, sweet desserts.
Maria & Enzo's Ristorante doesn't end their gustatorial temptations with the food. A spectacular wine list of more than 100 bottles is has been lovingly created for the new restaurant with the help of the expert sommelier they stole from Epcot's Tutto Gusto. In addition to the wide array of vino, crafty mixologists have created some unique and exciting concoctions both with, and without, alcohol.
What do you think? Will you be making a reservation to visit Maria & Enzo's? I couldn't resist and booked a reservation on OpenTable for dinner at Maria & Enzo's after the Princess Half Marathon. I can't wait to share my review with you! Until then - head on over to The Disney Food Blog and read what they had to say after attending the opening event. First Look AND Review!! Maria & Enzo's Ristorante Opening Soon in Disney Springs Thanks so much to them for allowing us to use their images.
