Disney's Animal Kingdom is officially extending park hours and starting most of the new nighttime experiences and entertainment beginning Memorial Day Weekend. The highly-anticipated Rivers of Light show is not part of the lineup, for now.
The new nighttime experiences include 'The Tree of Life Awakens,' Kilimanjaro Safaris After Dark, Jungle Book: Alive with Magic, and more.
The Tree of Life will awaken throughout each evening with magical fireflies revealing "stories of wonder and enchantment." On Kilimanjaro Safaris After Dark guests will have a chance to see the nighttime behavior of the animals including two new species: the African wild dogs and hyenas.
During the summer the Discovery River will be home to a limited-engagement show inspired by the live-action The Jungle Book. This show, Jungle Book: Alive with Magic, features music and special effects infused with an Indian influence.
Starting Memorial Day Weekend guests can also enjoy the Harambe Wildlife Parti featuring local street musicians, exotic foods, and more. The Discovery Island Carnivale also kicks off that weekend. And it looks like Tiffins Signature Restaurant is also opening over the holiday weekend.
As for the Rivers of Light, despite the brief media preview this week, the show still does not have a start date.
What are you looking forward to experience at the Animal Kingdom after dark? Let us know in the comments.
