Mickey and Minnie Get A New Home at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Grown ups love the Disney Characters just as much as the kids do and a beautiful queue to wait for your chance at a picture has become the standard for Walt Disney world Character Meet-n-Greets. According to Disney's Shawn Slater over on the Disney Parks Blog, Mickey and Minnie are getting a new home this spring at Disney's Animal Kingdom. An indoor Meet-n-Greet location called the Adventurers Outpost will replace the space "previously occupied by the Beastly Bazaar shop on Discovery Island." Themed as a "gathering place, where explorers might come together to share tales from their expeditions around the world."

According to rumors once FastPass+ has rolled out you will be able to schedule your time to visit this new location. Mickey and Minnie aren't the only fan favorites on the move in Animal Kingdom either. Word on the wind says that Donald Duck, joined once again by Daisy Duck, will move to the Discovery Island Character Landing area.

Minnie and Mickey may be moving to better digs, but that doesn't mean that Camp Minnie Mickey is going away! You will still be able to stop by and visit with lots of other Disney friends after catching a show of The Festival of the Lion King. Characters that you could possibly run into back at camp include "Chip 'n' Dale, Baloo, King Louie or Winnie the Pooh and Tigger."

Mickey and Minnies's new home is scheduled to open on May 12th, 2013! Are you excited to stop by the Adventurers Outpost? I, for one, will be happy to wait my turn to see my favorite Mice in the air conditioning.
