Earlier this week, Disney Consumer Products launched a nationwide search for their Winnie the Pooh "Storyteller of the Year." The contest celebrates parents and guardians who use storytelling to teach life lessons and foster their child's creativity.

New Character Meet and Greet in Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World has designated a new space for meeting characters within the Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland. Guests can now catch up with their favorite personalities from the Hundred Acre Wood next to The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

Pooh and his friends used to greet guests near the Splash Mountain exit, but now make their greeting home near Pooh's attraction. In addition, Woody and Jessie of "Toy Story" fame will now be meeting up with guests at the Splash Mountain exit location (they were previously at the upper Splash Mountain gate).

Disney Movie Songs One Step Closer to Original Song Oscar

Yesterday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced a list of 39 songs that have the potential for bringing home the Oscar for Best Original Song at the 84th Annual Academy Awards. Songs from Disney movies accounted for almost 25% of that list.

The nine songs that could make the final nomination list include:

  • "The World I Knew" from Disneynature's African Cats
  • "Collision of Worlds" Disney/Pixar's Cars
  • "Hello Hello" and "Love Builds a Garden" from Touchstone Pictures' Gnomeo & Juliet

How Toontown's Closing Will Affect Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Guests who are heading out to this year's Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom can expect a few changes thanks to the closing of Mickey's Toontown Fair.

Most of the changes appear to center around the location of certain characters. Frontierland will take on some of the costume-clad characters, including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Frontierland will also be the site of Br'er Rabbit's Candy Patch, the newly moved and reimagined Treat Trail that could be found in Toontown.

Hollywood Studios to Have New Character to Meet-and-Greet Opportunities

Who doesn't love the chance to say hi to a Disney character? Disney's Hollywood Studios will have some new opportunities to do just that coming next month.

Starting May 16, guests will have the chance to catch up with Phineas and Ferb. The fun duo will be featured in a movie-themed meet-and-greet experience.

As the summer heats up and "Cars 2" gets ready to hit the big screen, Lightning McQueen can be seen at Luigi's Garage. In June, catch him as he fills in for Herbie the Love Bug on the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show.

Dinner with Winnie the Pooh and Friends at The Crystal Palace

One of my favorite character meals at Walt Disney World is the "buffet with character" at The Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner with Winnie the Pooh and friends and in addition to some pretty good eats, this is also the best way to meet Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet in one spot!

Where To Hang Out With Winnie The Pooh at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

Disney welcomed Winnie the Pooh into the Disney family in 1966. The beloved characters based upon the Winnie-the-Pooh books by A. A. Milne fit right in with Disney originals like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. The full line of sequels, tv, clothing, books, and toys that followed have made Winnie the Pooh a household name and a cherished Disney childhood memory. So where can a fan of this "silly old bear" go to get some hunny pot love at Walt Disney World? We've got three spots in the Magic Kingdom made just for you.

Dine with Your Friends from the Hundred Acre Wood at The Crystal Palace

One of the most popular and most delicious character meals at Walt Disney World can be found at The Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom.

Not only will you find Winnie the Pooh and his best friends from the Hundred Acre Wood, but you'll also get a great meal whether you pick breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Meals With Character – The Crystal Palace and The Garden Grill

Some people might think "Oh, character meals are just for kids!" but we think otherwise. While there may be a few character meals geared more toward kids (think: Hollywood and Vine at breakfast and lunch), the majority of character meals at Walt Disney World are just perfect for "kids" of all ages!

Mickey and Minnie Get A New Home at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Grown ups love the Disney Characters just as much as the kids do and a beautiful queue to wait for your chance at a picture has become the standard for Walt Disney world Character Meet-n-Greets. According to Disney's Shawn Slater over on the Disney Parks Blog, Mickey and Minnie are getting a new home this spring at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Four Fantastic In Park Breakfasts at Walt Disney World

When talking about Disney Dining there's often a big focus on what's for dinner, sometimes we tend to forget that there are other meals in the day. At heart, I'm a breakfast girl, and some of you out there may be as well, after all "they" say it's our most important meal. I love all sorts of breakfast foods, and with late nights at the park my family tends to sleep in and often we don't even get out of the room before 10:00am.

5 Photos to Get at Magic Kingdom

Where ever you look in Magic Kingdom people are taking pictures. For some of us not-so-great photographer types that can be a little intimidating. I tend to feel a little inadequate snapping pictures on my iPhone when the person next to me is using a dslr (not that I dislike them I am just a little jealous that they have an amazing camera and I have a cell phone).

We have compiled what we think are the 5 photos that everyone should get at some point in their life at Magic Kingdom.

What is your favorite attraction/ride at the Magic Kingdom? [Facebook Fans]

We asked our Walt Disney World for Grownups Facebook fans, "What's YOUR favorite Magic Kingdom attraction or ride?"

We got some great responses and the quick breakdown shows that Haunted Mansion is a favorite among many, garnering the most mentions. Splash Mountain came in second, with Mickey's Philharmagic, Space Mountain, and Thunder Mountain all tying for third.

Remembering Mr. Toad's Wild Ride [Looking Back]

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was an original opening day attraction at the Magic Kingdom in October 1971. A classic Fantasyland dark ride, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was based on the Disney adaptation of "The Wind in the Willows."

Pooh and Friends at the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival

Another Friday visit to the Flower and Garden Festival is in order today! Last week we showed off the new Cars 2 topiaries; this week, let's take a look at our favorite Hundred Acre Wood characters -- Pooh and friends.

From what we can tell, these topiaries are here to promo the new Pooh movie, but we're OK with that. They're pretty cute, and they are some of our family's favorite characters after all.
