Mobile Order Coming to Satu’li Canteen and Other Restaurants at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

When Satu'li Canteen opens May 27 with the rest of Pandora - The World of Avatar at Disney's Animal Kingdom, guests will be able to use the new Mobile Order system on the My Disney Experience app. The new ordering system will then expand to other restaurants this summer.

Mobile Order, which is part of the updated My Disney Experience app, allows guests to pre-order and pre-pay for their meals. When guests arrive at Satu'li Canteen (or other participating restaurants) they click on the "I'm here" button in the app and the kitchen begins preparing their meals.

When the meal is ready guests will be alerted via the app to pick up their meals at the designated Mobile Order window.

While the service will debut at Satu'li Canteen it will be expanded to Pizzafari, Flame Tree Barbecue, and Restaurantosaurus this summer. Other quick service restaurants at Disney World will be added later.

Check out this "how to" post from our friends at the Disney Food Blog with tips on using Mobile Order. .

During the initial roll out of Mobile Order guests will only be able to pay with a credit card. Guests who have dietary restrictions or who wish to use the Disney Dining Plan must order with a cashier.

Will you be using Mobile Order when you visit Pandora? Let us know in the comments.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this mobile ordering. I have a real love/hate relationship with it at my local Starbucks. It's great if you use it, but if you are one of the people who shows up in person, it really isn't fun having to wait for several drinks to be made ahead of yours even though you are the only person in the store. When I went to school for hospitality it was very important to take care of the person that was standing in front of you first. Also, it seems to me that mobile ordering at Disney is going to put a good number of people out of work as humans are replaced with computers. Never a good thing IMHO.
