Regular Guest Author JoAnnC recently tried out the new mobile pay system that Walt Disney World is currently testing at Mouse Gear in Epcot and Everything Pop at Pop Century. It's an interesting concept that our friends at the Disney Food Blog reported about a few weeks ago. I tried it out while I was staying at Disney's Pop Century Resort last week.
It is easy to use!
To access you have two options. You can click on the + on the bottom of the My Disney Experience App to bring up the menu. Click "Shop in Store " Now Testing" option. Select the store.
Or - you can just scan the QR code on sign at the store entrance.
Click on "Scan an Item"
Your camera will open to scan the bar code or you can also type in the bar code number.
Once you have scanned the item, you can choose to scan another item or proceed to the checkout.
When you check out, any discounts tied to your My Disney Experience account will be applied.
Your purchase will be charged to the credit card on your account or you can add a gift card number. The gift card number is not saved to your account. If you choose to use a gift card for mobile purchasing (including quick service ordering), save the number in your notes on your phone and copy and paste it for each purchase. I read this tip on Facebook and found it to be a time saver.
After completing your purchase, show the QR code to the Cast Member to validate your purchase and you are good to go.
I found this new system easy to use and hope they roll it out to more stores.
