A person who's undergone a double lung transplant participating in a marathon is news in and of itself. Over the past weekend, a Navy SEAL did just that - and he also got to meet the family of the teen who made the transplant possible.
Justin Legg, who underwent a double lung transplant in 2010 due to complications from leukemia, ran the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon last Saturday at Walt Disney World. After finishing the 13.1 mile course, he was able to meet and thank the mother of his lung donor. Said Legg:
I wanted to meet his family and say 'Thank you for making the decision to share his organs.' His name is Jarred McKinley Carter.
What's next for Legg, who has already raised some $50,000 with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society? A research project, which he plans to name after Jarred Carter.

Hoo Rah! That's a feel-good story. I applaud the young man's family for the organ donation, and the courageous fight against Leukemia by the Navy SEAL. Awesome!
