People ask me all the time if why I don't get bored traveling to Walt Disney World so often, but long-time Disney fans know that things are always changing in the Vacation Kingdom. It's as easy as pie to make every Disney different, so let's take a look at the exciting and new things coming to Walt Disney World in 2020!

Coming To Epcot

Start the fun with three new World Showcase films that debut January 17, 2020 at Epcot. These updated movies improve guests theater experience with technological upgrades to the venues as extraordinary new filming techniques.

  • "Awesome Planet" in The Land pavilion showcases the Earth's beauty and diversity.
  • "Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along" in the France pavilion invites guests to participate in a twist on a tale as old as time. It also features narration from Angela Lansbury, who played Mrs. Potts in the original film. The new sing-along will run in rotation with "Impressions de France," which receives an upgrade to 4K projection.
  • "Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360" in the Canada pavilion is an update to the previous "O Canada!" film with new scenes, a new musical score by Canadian composer Andrew Lockington and new narration.

In summer 2020, the France pavilion expansion opens with even more for guests to discover, including Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, where you'll shrink to the size of Chef Remy and race through Gusteau's restaurant on a wild adventure, and the debut of a delicious new restaurant in the France pavilion, La Creperie de Paris, offering both table-service and quick-service options.

Space 220 has a theme that is quite simply out of this world and is scheduled to. open at Epcot in February 2020. Located next to Mission: SPACE, this new table-service restaurant will give guests the feeling of dining 220 miles above the Earth's surface. From the moment of check-in a unique dining experience is guaranteed. Upon arrival, guests will be guided to their seats past the grow zone, a spinning wall of produce that mimics Earth's gravity and represents some of the fresh ingredients used by the restaurant's culinary team.

Over in the American Adventure a new fast-casual restaurant takes over the old Fife & Drum space. Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue, will be home to a variety of American barbecue classics and home-style craft brews.

2020 sees a new iteration of the popular interactive scavenger hunt around World Showcase, Disney's DuckTales World Showcase Adventure. Scrooge McDuck, Donald, nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, Launchpad and Webby are in search of priceless treasure. Guests will use the Play Disney Parks mobile app to journey around World Showcase discovering exotic destinations, exciting mysteries, and maybe even the supernatural guardians of ancient artifacts.

Coming To Disney Springs

Cirque du Soleil, Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Imagineering have a new collaboration to wow guests in a whole new way. "Drawn To Life" is a new Cirque du Soleil spectacular that will be opening for an exclusive run at the Disney Springs big top. The new show follows the story of Julie, a courageous and determined girl who discovers an unexpected gift left by her late father. She embarks on an inspiring quest to imagine new possibilities and animate her future with the help of her Disney childhood memories.

The show will open for previews March 20, 2020, and officially debut April 17, 2020. Tickets are on sale now.

Disney foodies will also be thrilled to hear that more new culinary adventures are in store at Disney Springs with the anticipated openings of new restaurants, and the second location for an old favorite.

Coming To Disney's Hollywood Studios

Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway is set to open its doors on March 4, 2020, at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The adventure-filled new ride-through attraction featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, invites guests inside a Mickey cartoon where "Mouse rules apply" and anything can happen!

Also opening at Disney's Hollywood Studios in March 2020 is the new Mickey Shorts Theater. This cinema experience (with fun Mickey Mouse-themed seats) will show an original short film in the style of the popular Disney Channel animated series "Mickey Mouse." Guests will also find new photo opportunities at the Mickey Shorts Theater.

Over in Toy Story Land a new restaurant will feed all the hungry cowboys.
Roundup Rodeo BBQ will be a family table service location where guests will be immersed with all their toy pals in an environment constructed from Andy's favorite larger-than-life play sets. While we don't have a date yet, we're told this will open at sometime in 2020.

This is what I love about WDW, you can still experience the same things you did 20-30 years ago and have new things to look forward to as well. I'm anxious to see the new Star Wars hotel and the changes coming to EPCOT.

I am looking forward to Remy's Ratatouille Adventure the most. I rode it in Disneyland Paris and loved it.
